Our AUDIO SWITCH UNIT (ASU) will allow the Talking Display Unit (TDU) to share the amplifiers and speakers used in an existing in store background music system. The ASU will automatically detect and connect the start of the TDU message to the in store speaker system and simultaneously mute the existing background music feed. The background music will then be automatically restored at the end of the message. The ASU is supplied with two standard plug in 3.5mm audio inputs and one standard plug in 3.5mm audio output. The ASU unit must be connected ahead of any amplifiers used for the existing in store background music system. Power for the ASU and communication between the ASU and the TDU is achieved via a single 2 pair telephone cable, which is supplied with the ASU. There is no need for any other external connections. The ASU unit can also be used in conjunction with the MIU to allow up to 12 separate sensors and messages to play via the existing in store background music system.
