PRODUCT DESCRIPTION EASY-CONNECT has been specifically designed to provide for AUTOMATIC FAX detection and reception using the Voice Priority Mode, on your normal voice telephone line.  EASY-CONNECT will also allow operation in the FaxStream Duet mode. This is ideal for customers who have been using the same phone and fax number for some time and who now wish to introduce a separate Fax number by using the FaxStream Duet method. EASY-CONNECT will receive fax's sent to either number. EASY-CONNECT is TRANSPARENT in operation, which means that it will not affect the normal use of your telephone line in any way and it is designed to work with the other telephone devices that may be fitted to your line. It also means that your voice callers will never know that there is a Fax device or Line Sharer on the line. It has also been designed for quick and easy USER INSTALLATION on to ANY TELEPHONE SOCKET, which will take you just a few minutes.

 

VOICE PRIORITY FAXSWITCH OPERATION   After connecting EASY-CONNECT direct to ANY telephone socket on your telephone line, incoming telephone calls will continue to ring normally on all your telephones.   Then whenever your telephone line rings, answer incoming calls as normal, on any telephone (including a cordless telephone).   If the call is a voice call, proceed normally. Your caller will never know that you have a Fax or Line Sharer connected to your line.   If the call is a Fax call, you will hear a 'beep' shortly after answering. All you need do then is to hang up. This 'beep' is known as a Fax Calling Tone (CNG tone). EASY-CONNECT will detect this 'beep' and seize the call. It will then ring your Fax Device to cause it to answer and then connect the incoming Fax Call to it so that they can communicate.   When you are not home, your Answering Machine will answer all incoming calls as normal. EASY-CONNECT will then "listen" for incoming Fax Calling Tones.   If a Fax Calling Tone is detected, EASY-CONNECT will automatically seize the call,  ring your Fax device and then connect the incoming fax transmission. It will also cause your Answering Machine to disconnect from the line and reset ready to take the next call.   If a Fax Calling Tone is NOT detected, EASY-CONNECT will simply ignore the call and allow your caller to hear your message and then leave a message for you if they wish.   EASY-CONNECT can be used without an Answering Machine, however it is recommended that you use an Answering Machine to answer incoming calls when you are out of the office. The Answering Machine can be a separate device or can be integrated with your Fax Machine or Voice Modem. NOTE - If you do not wish to use an Answering Machine, it is recommended that you use the traditional FaxSwitch method (refer to our FAXSWITCH product, detailed separately within this web site).   FAXSTREAM DUET OPERATION   EASY-CONNECT is also programmed for fully automatic operation with the Telstra FaxStream Duet service. This automatic facility is incorporated for those customers who also wish to use this service, now or in the future. This facility works in conjunction with our normal mode, to allow Fax reception on your phone number as well as your Fax number.    FaxStream Duet is a service provided by Telstra at a cost of $6.60 per month, where a new additional telephone number, specifically for use as your fax number, is added to your telephone line.  This method of operation is the same as that used by our DUET SWITCH device. EASY CONNECT INSTALLATION DIAGRAM

TELSTRA CALLING NUMBER DISPLAY Note - If you use the Telstra Calling Number Display service (also known as CallerID), then you should ensure that the Calling Number Display reading device is not connected to the PHONE port of EASY-CONNECT. This device should be connected direct to the Telephone Socket, using a double telephone adaptor (not supplied) or fitted to a separate telephone socket. Note - it is not necesary to connect a telephone or other to the PHONE port of EASY-CONNECT. ADSL EASY-CONNECT is completely compatible with the use of ADSL on the same telephone line, PROVIDING A HIGH QUALITY CENTRAL ADSL FILTER IS USED. This filter should be connected between the LINE port of EASY-CONNECT and the telephone socket that it is attached to. Note - Basic ADSL filters as suplied for use with telephones ARE NOT ADEQUATE. We recommend the use of the C10 BRAND CENTRAL ADSL FILTER.
